No no no...I agree, Jace, but you see what I'm saying though? About trying to get through that elusive first few chapters and find that you have characters of your own and not carbon copies of the masters? I know you know what I mean...gosh this writing thing remains hard to do...

Do it crazy! Your writing's fun to read.

Jace: ...idon'tknow, idon'tknow, idon'tknow....
I know the problem: I'm having a hard time reminding myself that I'm going for a word count, NOT a quality story. But part of me keeps saying "It's gotta be GOOD, too."
Fuck the word count and fuck the quality. Write to be writing, chief. You've definitely got the ability.

(right, like you're gonna take advice from the woman that ran screaming from the contest...)
You'll get sucked into the contest, eris. We know you will!
Eris and Jace: You two....flattery will get you everywhere.
Well, I agree somewhat: what's the point if you don't like the story yourself? Do what makes you happy, but I think you'll enjoy the experience, Crazy. Even if you quit in the middle or something.
I'm glad I read this thread! I didn't know there was an actual place to sign up and all... I was just going to try to accomplish this story I've been working on because it seems like a good goal. Now I can check out all the details and maybe have someone looking over my shoulder to keep me on deadline. Cool!
